That’s where it all started.
So what if the land far, far away is Boston and the beautiful, young girl is truly a tired, business women who works her tail off working full-time, pursuing her MBA part-time at night, embracing her inner domestic diva, and exercising . And so what if the kind, handsome, young boy is also a diligent worker investing 12+ hour days at a car rental agency in Boston, and (whether he will admit it or not) is also finding his inner domestic diva. And so what that they’re going to get married in the young girl’s hometown – which is a three hour car ride and an hour-plus ferry ride away. So what?
Fact of the matter is it is not easy. It takes stamina, patience, and a lot of project management? Wait, project management? I said it, project management. MBA buzz word in practice!
I used to think I had to compartamentalize my life. I had to treat my work life, my MBA, my wedding planning, and my domestic responsibilities independently. But now I’m seeing that to effectively balance it all, you need to merge it all. And despite the fact that somethings may not seem to overlap, they in fact do. Case in point – MBA learnings with bridal planning. Yee-haw.
I’m 13 months into my engagement. I’ve got 11 more to go. Join me on this journey as I leverage my MBA learnings to plan my wedding. See the choices I make and the strategic direction associated with them. Perhaps there still can be some glamour with balance.
